About the role
Help students develop their artistic skills, creativity and confidence through structured drawing, painting and mixed-media lessons adapted to different ages and ability levels.
Teaching hours are mainly during weekday after-school hours and on weekends. Weekly hours may vary according to class schedules and studio requirements.

Key responsibilities
- Teach drawing, painting and mixed-media art classes.
- Deliver structured lessons for different ages and ability levels.
- Adapt activities to support each studentโs learning and creative development.
- Prepare art materials and keep the classroom clean and organised.
- Create a safe, positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Communicate professionally with parents, adult students and the studio team.
- Assist with holiday programmes, workshops or studio events when required.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Have a qualification in fine arts, design, art education or a related subject; are currently studying in one of these fields; or can demonstrate strong artistic ability through a portfolio.
- Enjoy teaching children, teenagers and adults.
- Are patient, enthusiastic, organised and dependable.
- Communicate confidently and professionally.
- Are available during weekday after-school hours and/or on weekends.
- Have teaching, tutoring, coaching or classroom experience โ preferred but not essential.
- Have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
- Are willing to complete reference checks and any required police vetting before starting.
